Friday Letters

Dear Friday, I love you oh so very much. Why do you always seem to hide from me?
Dear Off Week, You sorta have my Friday evening off a little. I mean, there is this man sitting on the couch in gym shorts watching ESPN at 3:30pm. I normally have afternoons to catch up on Y&R. Now I am forced to sit here and blog and answer questions about my day.
Dear Husband, I love you. I really do. I hope you understand the wrench you have thrown into my afternoon.  However, you are seriously the best bus driver ever. ;)
Dear “Girl’s Night”, YAY! I am ready to CRUSH the salad bar at our local fancy restaurant. (Yeah. Salad bar is the highlight of the evening. Did I mention it is Off Week?)
Dear friends that are posting crazy insane-ness about the Luke Bryan show last night, Yeah, I got up and went to work at 7am this morning. I may or may not be absolutely envious of your fun…
Dear Dub, as long as you chew anything and everything that I accidentally leave out, we will NEVER convince your daddy that you NEED a sibling. Human or doggy.
Dear debates, please come on earlier. It is SOOO hard for me to stay up past 10pm. True fact.
Dear online jewelry auctions, I want ALL of your perfect wardrobe pieces. Why do you have such precious items? I am TRYING to save! It also does not help that I have joint checking. Every single purchase is secretly tracked!
Dear loaded potato soup, You were really good. Too good. I should only make you once a year. My diet agrees. My stomach… not so much.
Dear Fall, please stop teasing me in the mornings and then laughing at me in the afternoons. I love wearing my sweaters. I would like to wear them ALL day. Please and thank you!
Dear Christmas, I’m ready for you.
Dear 5am on a Saturday, you will be here so early tomorrow. However, I will be so excited to see you. My XC runners are going to KILL the meet that we are headed to.
Happy Friday!
Love love,
Carley

Decor Share

Coach just said he was going to put on sweat pants?! Really!? Could it be…… FALL?!

It is rather chilly in here.

To celebrate the goodness that is in the air I am breathing, I decided to share my tiny project with you. I cannot decide if the project is the fireplace, or my camera. Have I mentioned how much I love this little jewel? I do.

Anyway, to keep from scattering away more than I already am, here is what I was working with.

A beautiful sign that was a wedding gift, a mirror that I found in the back of a closet when we moved here, two ridiculous baseballs that are signed, and a personalized autographed picture of Mark. (He’s on my fp, so we are on first name terms.) Oh my, let’s not forget the box of tissues. Not too sure how they made it there, but I hate it. Have I moved it until now? Why no. Just hated it from afar.

Please do not expect much of a design change. I am on a strict budget when in Hob Lob. I went this weekend, I was in a rush, and ill, so I didn’t really blow the bank account like this lovely fireplace would require. I did however, jazz it up.
I am not a fan of orange. My house is red and black. Orange is blahhhhh…. I do love pumpkins. But they are orange. Here lies the situation. Well, once situation. Thank you Lobby for being the lovely “I hate orange” solution.
Taaaadaaaa.

I seriously love the large decor pumpkin. I may leave it up until next fall. It makes me smile. Could it match this house any more perfectly?
Give me a break. Yes the baseballs are still here. So it Mark. Will they ever leave? Sure, as soon as my husband builds me some custom made shelves for the living room. hahahahahahahah. (Many of you will get the joke. Some will not.)

I plan to add a burlap wreath. The half made wreath is on the craft table. I will update in the future.

Just wanted to share this little purchase with you.

Meanwhile, here is what the little baby was doing... isn't he the most presh?!

Weekend Recap: Fall Break

This weekend was the wrap up for our “College Football Marathon.” For 4 straight weekends in a row, we have made the 3+ hour drive to see the Dawgs play. This past weekend we went to Columbia, SC. This was our “Fall Break” and Coach and I had a four day weekend. We decided to knock something off of our ‘Before Children Bucket List’ and made the trip. Ohhhh you know we had a devastating loss, but HEY… the experience was fun, and   I would make the trip again anytime. (I would love a better outcome, of course.)
We also had a sad defeat on Friday night. What a double doozie…

Anyway, the trip started off right with some YUMMO DD blueberry coffee. You know you are lame when you get excited about visiting a DD. I was PUMPED.

Then we drove into Columbia and met up with Blair and his friend. He was on fall break as well, so he was able to come from Pikeville and go to the game with us.
Then we met some great friends from Jefferson and spent the day tailgating. You know us… just some tailgating fools. J You never know how AMAZING Athens is until you leave it. However, we DID have indoor bathrooms at our spot... so all was wonderful to me.
We spent several hours at the tailgate with friends then we walked to the game. Our seats were GREAT! Actually they were in the family section, so we loved it! South Carolina has some great traditions. The “sandstorm” was pretty amazing…… but absolutely nothing can beat some barking!

so upset...

The game… well, there are no words. It was actually one of the worst feelings ever. Hearing the crowd chant, “OVER RATED” was just terrible. But, the good news is: Sunday the sun still came up, and life is still going on. I mean, can you believe the world is still spinning after that game? I was pretty surprised as well.
Sunday we got up and rode through Augusta. We stopped at our favorite bookstore.

Someone, I will NOT name any names… bought a book by Coach Spurrier. Anyway, then we walked around the mall, and then had lunch at our favorite restaurant. I also ran into Bed Bath and Beyond. I may or may not have spent $40 on K-cups. (White Chocolate Macadamia Cookie Coffee?? Ummm yeah!)  Afterwards, we came home, and I talked and chatted slept the entire ride home. It was such a great trip because we had an extra day to enjoy off!
This morning we slept in… it was sooo great! Then I enjoyed a cup of coffee to celebrate the 60* weather outside. Coach watched Friday’s film, and I cleaned the house a bit. Then we decided to see an early movie. Taken II. I won’t give a true movie review, but it was a great movie to see with your husband. He loved it, I enjoyed it. It has an intense plot, and Coach even bought me some popcorn. Absolutely no complaints here. As most of our dates end up, we hit Wal-Mart on the way home. I swear, I spend TOO much money there!
We picked up the baby from his “friend’s house” aka the vet, and then came home to wrap up the long weekend.

I can smell and somewhat feel Fall in the air...

 Next break:
Thanksgiving!

Does This Make Me Crazy?!

Does this make me crazy?
Well, this Tuesday has just been an ehhh kinda day. Today’s highlight: a month and a half ago, I had middle school kiddies that looked at me like I was an alien when I said; “Jog half of a mile.” Well, today, I had a MS XC team jog 5 miles. Yes. 5 whole miles. J Such a proud XC mama.

Anyway, I read this blog, and thought I would follow along. Some of you may know these things about me. Others may not even care. Well, just close the window if that is you.

Does this make me crazy….???
….I can sit in a room for hours without a T.V. on. Actually, I often have to FORCE myself to turn the TV on and watch my daily Y&R. Once I have it on… I enjoy TV. However, I do not really need it.
….My husband MUST sleep with the music station on the TV at night. I despise this. Seriously, I LOVE sleeping in the pitch black darkness. I guess this may be why Coach and I love each other so much. I deal with his strange ways… he deals with mine.
…. I wear pants to bed every single night. It can be 900* outside, and sometimes I believe it was this summer, but… I MUST have pj pants on.
….for the majority of my life, I could only wear pj pants once before they were “dirty.” I may or may not still struggle with this. Yes, this means if I go on vacation for 6 nights, I take 6 pairs of pjs. Like I said, I sleep with the TV on; he lets me wash loads and loads of laundry.
….I can look at the same book of photos 5203948234 times. My wedding photos are my favorite to frequently visit.
…if I try an outfit on… it is dirty. Ehhhhhhh……..
….I sleep better if I read before I go to bed.
….I can get ready in 25 minutes flat. Do NOT mess with my routine in the mornings…. 25 minutes is all I have.
….I may delete friends from social media sites if they take pictures of themselves in a bathroom mirror and are over the age of 22. I give you the age of 21, but when you turn 22 and take a bathroom shot… good bye. Too harsh?
…I am considering “car selfie pics” as the next criteria for deleting. I am sick of seeing seatbelts y'all!
….I wash my hair 2xs a day. Yes. Every.Single.Day. My hair is fine… it isn’t dry and brittle. It is fresh and clean.
….I have read 50+ of the current “Free Kindle” books listed right now.
….I gave up sodas as my NY resolution. I may need to give up Gatorade as my next one. LOVE.THIS.STUFF.
….When I buy pants, (any pants) I sit criss- cross on the floor when trying them on. If I am uncomfortable… I don’t make the purchase. Hey… I am CONSTANTLY sitting on the floor!
…I LOVE ranch dressing. I HATE hot ranch dressing.
Please don’t judge. I needed something to blog about. Do you feel like you know me now?
Love love,
C^2
I have no reason to post this picture. Other than... I love it. :)

The Real Life Coach's Wife Life

In 2011 blogging was a bit of a lengthy status update for social media. Coach and I moved away from "home" and it was just a fun ...
