Week of Love Part II: Bridal Photos

Happy rainy, soggy, can’t get a run in due to the monsoon Monday! I am snuggled up on the recliner, cleaning out the DVR and decided that it was a great time to continue my Week of Love posts. Yesterday I posted about loving our engagement pictures. Today I thought I would recap some other pictures that I love…. My bridal pictures. If you are soon to be bride… and you are thinking about NOT doing a bridal session… DO IT! I swear it was one of my favorite parts about planning the wedding. A) It was more practice for hair and makeup. B) I got to spend an extra afternoon in my dress. C) On the day of the wedding, I could not have cared less if I had a picture of “just me.” I had all of those already taken care of. D.) I was able to go to some amazing places and get some really great pictures for Coach. (See Football Field Pictures!) There would have been ZERO time for all of this the day of the wedding. I mean, I was rocking my wedding dress on a farm, in a field, at Memorial Stadium! It was so awesome! I am SOOOOO happy I took care of all this the week before. Now, the family friends that took care of cleaning my dress may or may not have wanted to kill me. I was just thinking, “I don’t care if it is a wreck… I just want a good picture!” Well, it was a wreck. Plus, I got the picture! No worries, it was cleaned and beautiful on May 21, 2011!

The barn pictures are my favorite. I also LOVE the field pictures. Well, beauty was a PAIN this day. It was late spring and the pollen was sky high. I was a sneezing hot mess! I am sure 50% of the pictures couldn’t be used because I was caught mid-sneeze. As far as the football pictures go, I did these 100% as a fun thing for Coach. HE is MR. JHS after all… Scott made me SO happy when he placed our wedding date on the football. No excuses for Coach to forget our anniversary! It’s on a football! I also LOVE my dress. Well, don’t all brides love their dress? It is SO me and I am so delighted I found it. I cried when I put it on in the store, and I cried each time I put it on after that. (I had LOTS of alterations. Plenty of crying going on!)

Looking through all of our engagement pictures and now my bridal pictures has me reliving that wonderful day. I think tomorrow I will look back on our wedding day. After all, it was the BEST day of my entire life…

Engagement Pictures

With this being the first day of Valentine’s Week I thought I would spend my week on my blog gushing about my absolute favorite person in the world. COACH! I really might not spend the entire week posting about him, but I would like to blog about LOVE. After all, that’s what February is on the calendar for, right?

The first of my love posts will be dedicated to my engagement pictures. I LOVE them for sure! I love our photographer (present tense because we really know him, and consider him to be a great family friend.) Our engagement pictures took place at our absolute favorite place on Earth, Athens. (Athens, Georgia that is. Why do people get all excited about Athens, Greece?)
Coach proposed in Athens, down at the Arch. We had our “first look” in Athens as well. Of course we wanted engagement pictures there as well! Over kill? Probably. Regrets? No way. My house is consistently decorated in red and black, so my engagement pictures fit right in.
It was a beautiful, sunny day in the spring when we took these. They are my absolute favorite!
our first real "family photo"

this is my FAVORITE photo. I have it hanging in my dining room. :)

i love this one too. it reminds me of the days of BC hitting on me....

After the photo shoot we enjoyed our favorite pizza and drinks with a good friend and excellent photographer.

There are also several pictures of some PDA. Well… this took Scott lots of work and yelling at me to “KISS.” I am NOT a fan of PDA. We were in the streets of down town Athens! It was crawling with folks… looking at us. YUCK! Anyway… fun fact: I am NOT a PDA person at all!

To me Coach looks exactly the same. Other than me now shaving his head instead of ONLY letting Jerry do it... he doesn’t look any different. Me, I feel like I was a little kid back then. I mean, these were taken 2 years ago. Have I really changed that much? I now rock a lil pixie cut… Why didn’t someone tell me to cut that junk off years ago? It probably took me an hour to wash, dry, straighten, and constantly brush that mess. #nolongerhavethatprob
I also think it is funny how we were wearing black. I am thinking we need to set up a 2 year anniversary photo shoot and wear another color. Green maybe?

Thanks, Scott for the beautiful shots and all the great memories we have.
What are some things you LOVE?

Love Love,

Where Have I Been?!

Ahhhh! Where have I been for a month? Every single day when I am on a run I have been thinking about this little blog and all of the blogging ideas that I should write about. Well, truth be known… when I get home from a run, I cook dinner, prep meals for the next day, fold laundry (since my super awesome husband washes them, puts them in the dryer, places  them in the basket in the living room…  aaaaaannndddd stops there.) and then it is nearly 10pm! I LOVE my sleep. I make it my goal to be ready for bed at 9:30pm every single night. Seriously. The past few weeks have been super crammed pack with loads of hustle!  I often judge my busy schedule by the number of Y&R’s I have on the DVR. EIGHT! Yes, super busy! I thought I would catch up on a few of these random events since my run has been postponed due to the much needed down pour that has my driveway and the roads that I run on super flooded!

Wrestling has consumed my husband’s life (and caused mine to lack movie dates, fun trips, and exciting blog worthy events) since mid-November. It is getting down to the best of the best. He has a few Trojans that are making it pretty far in the state competition, and we hope to bring Telfair County a state winner or two (or three…. Maybe four?). There are only 2 more weeks left of this season! Although normal wives would be jumping for joy from the excitement of having their husband return home from work before 7pm, and to have a weekend together that does not involve a bus ride or concession stands…. Well, Coach informed me last month that he was going to be helping with varsity baseball. I am quickly learning that when I said, “For wins and for losses” I meant this year round, and for three sports. I am 100% excited about baseball season. I love baseball, and understand it SOOO much more than wrestling. Hey… this means I still get my afternoons to catch up on reading blogs and a few episodes of Y &R. :)

Running… oh running. I am currently on week 5 of the half marathon plan that I picked to follow. I have never been this far into the plan. I have never really stuck to the plan this religiously. 4 mile runs are a daily event. 6 mile weekend runs are filling my days off. I have seriously fallen in love with running. Actually, I have diagnosed myself with having an obsessive personality. I am OBSESSED with finishing the plan before the end of spring. (I am also obsessed with another Weimaraner, adding teal to our bedroom, photography, juicing, eating clean, and the list goes on….)  When I finish a run I am also always considering the full marathon plan and how do-able it would be if I planned on doing one in the late fall. Hmmmmm…… I also currently have the BEST running partner. He keeps the strays away, and has become quite the local celebrity. One of my kids said, “Hey Mrs. Cain, I saw Dub running yesterday!” (Didn’t even see their super awesome teacher… just Dub.)

Advocare…. I know it is all OVER social media right now. However, I can’t say it enough. I LOVE Advocare. I just finished my first cleanse of 2013. I am down 6lbs. This puts me down 10lbs since 2012. I really LOVE it. There is also a great new work out DVD. I LOVE it as well. No equipment, no super confusing moves, and no crazy hard things that I can’t seem to do. It is all totally do-able. 24 minutes of getting to work and getting sweaty. I am really not even a fan of work out DVDs. However, this one has my heart.
I am still LOVING the short hair. #shorthairdontcare

I also recently joined a Women’s Bible Study at the church that we visit in McRae. I have learned so much! I love the ladies, I am having the best time, and I love being in the scripture and finding out more and more about how God’s plan is always THE plan. This takes place on Thursday nights right after dinner. It really makes the week so much better!

I thought I'd leave you with some of the cuteness that I am dealing with right now...

There you have it… just a little catch up on the Life of Carley. Happy February! (Only one month until I turn 25! Yikes!)
Love love,

The Real Life Coach's Wife Life

In 2011 blogging was a bit of a lengthy status update for social media. Coach and I moved away from "home" and it was just a fun ...
